Aerial Fiber Technician II - Grantsville, MD

Responsibilities

• Safely perform work in communication spaces
• Qualify to work safely in energized spaces
• Participate in work requiring pole climbing
• Inspect, mobilize, and operate a bucket truck from the cab
• Record and report the sequential footmarks by the operator or groundman
• Responsible for framing poles
• Pull cable, strand, fiber, and lash, for extended periods of time
• Provide framing and attachment hardware for the operator, jack-down guys, pull lashes
• Work in both communication and power spaces
• Perform pole transfers, strand building, lashing, make-readies, and mounting equipment

Requirements

• 2-4 years of relevant Fiber Optics experience preferred
• Mastery of Aerial Construction Technician I Job Duties
• Experience operating small equipment experience (i.e., forklift, bobcat, telehandler, skid steer, etc.)
• Flagger Certification
• Comfortable working at elevated heights and confined spaces

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
