AEC - Ophthalmic Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician who is self-motivated and has a strong work ethic to join our successful surgical practice!

Candidates must possess a positive professional attitude, ability to develop strong connections with our patients, treat patients with warmth and empathy, are team oriented and demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and apply complex concepts to their daily work.

Responsibilities

• Scribe during surgical procedures
• Perform patient work-ups
• Conduct vision tests and refractions
• Assist physicians in the operating room
• Perform visual field and OCT testing

Requirements

• Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus
• Previous experience within the medical field (preferred)
• High school or equivalent education

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

Skills

• Medical terminology knowledge
• Basic computer skills

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time traveling position from Washington NC, Kinston NC, Elizabeth City NC and Kitty Hawk NC. Travel to other locations is required.
