Responsibilities
- Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork, positive peer relationships and reinforces employability skills essential to today's workforce.
- Develops lesson plans that engage adult student learning in both the classroom and laboratory setting.
- Makes use of formal and informal assessment strategies to monitor student progress.
- Collaborates with employers to provide real-world experiences and opportunities for students.
- Prepares students for industry credential assessments.
- Assists the program coordinator with curriculum development, course scheduling, and Program Advisory Committee meetings.
Qualifications
- 5 years' work experience in field of expertise OR Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in field of expertise plus 3 years' work experience in the industrial maintenance and machine repair profession with PLC experience.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Experience with Control Logix 5000, Logix Pro, RS Logix and HMI software preferred; in addition, experience with setting up relay logic and VFD's (variable frequency drives) preferred.
- Robotics experience in theory and application, FANUC & Yaskawa/Motoman experience a plus.
- Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
- Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Pay
Salary appropriate placement on the Adult Education Intermittent/Hourly Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Compensation is $25.00 per hour, on an as-needed basis. Maximum 839 working hours in an academic year.
Schedule
One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

Evaluation
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
