Major Duties
- Provide case management and wraparound support services for up to 50 or more overaged and under credit students, to help them alleviate any stressors, so the students can successfully meet graduation requirements.
- Provide individual, family and group counseling.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Provide family outreach and involvement as appropriate.
- Develop and implement strategic and goal planning for students on caseload.
- Develop and implement groups/workshops responsive to student needs, such as Advisory, Men and Women groups.
- Absorb students in attending school regularly through identifying obstacles and connecting with resources.
- Attendance outreach consists of home visits, outreach calls, texting, and mailing, etc.
- Absorb students in all aspects of post-secondary planning, financial aid, personal essay, and college or vocational training trips.
- Able to work collaboratively with DOE and GSS team members.
- Generate and submit data required for statistical reports and ensure that appropriate paperwork and database entry is completed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed to further enhance the performance of the program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Must have experience working with adolescent/young adults individually and in groups.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Prior experience in a school setting helpful.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
