Advisory Board Relations Manager (DHQ)
About the role
The Salvation Army of Greater New York seeks an Advisory Board Relations Manager to provide essential coordination, communication, and project management to strategically engage Advisory volunteers.
Responsibilities
Support a network of 18 existing Advisory Organizations and launch additional Advisory Organizations throughout the region.
Collaborate with local staff, community leaders, and philanthropists to ensure Advisory Organization success and growth.
Identify and research potential members, participate in recruitment, attend Board meetings, create and disseminate materials and presentations, and train staff and Advisory Organization members on best practices.
Work in collaboration with the fundraising and marketing team and report directly to the Divisional Director of Philanthropy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
3+ years of professional experience required.
Experience working directly with business executives preferred.
Experience in fundraising and event planning a bonus.
Qualifications
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required.
A professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and understanding of customer service.
Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and follow-through.
Critical thinking and decision-making skills displaying good judgement and the ability to complete projects independently.
A collaborative attitude and ability to work closely with many stakeholders in varying levels of seniority towards a collective goal.
Initiative to identify new opportunities and take through completion independently.
