About the Role

The Advisor sells new accounts and renews existing accounts in alignment with firm and individual goals. Advisors build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, the service team, insurance company partners, and centers of influence while identifying and soliciting sales prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Presents proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding.
  • Communicates with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and the service team in an articulate and effective manner.
  • Finalizes the sale and collects necessary documents, applications, etc., and briefs the service team on the policy sale.
  • Develops prospects through community involvement, attending insurance company partner-hosted seminars, building relationships with industry contacts, networking events, and referrals from current accounts.
  • Develops information and recommendations for prospective accounts, presents proposals, and adheres to firm policies and procedures for writing new accounts.
  • Maintains accuracy, timeliness, and completion in interactions with clients, the firm, and insurance company partners to minimize errors and omissions while demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintains knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting criteria for insurance company partners to effectively communicate with all involved.
  • Positively represents the firm in the community and with insurance company partners.
  • Meets monthly new business goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes.
  • Reports issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn other insurance company and firm software programs.
  • Maintains all state-required licenses for risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions (or willingness and ability to obtain them within the first 90 days of employment).
  • Self-starter with the ability to influence others through effective verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Travel is required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 10 pounds, with some walking, standing, reaching, and use of hands for computer work.
