Summary Of The Role The Advisor, Business Improvement & Planning supports the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of business improvement, operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes for the Rio Grande LNG facility. Working closely with the Sr. Business Improvement Manager, this role contributes to the execution of the Business Excellence Management System (BEMS), drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports strategic planning activities that improve operational efficiency, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness. The Advisor serves as a key partner to operations, maintenance, technical, and business functions by providing data-driven analysis, facilitating improvement projects, coordinating planning cycles, and supporting budget development and forecasting processes. This position helps ensure business objectives are translated into measurable performance outcomes and continuous improvement actions across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead Financial Planning: Drive the development, tracking, and analysis of annual operational budgets and rolling forecasts.Build Financial Models: Create and maintain complex spreadsheets and quantitative models to evaluate operational performance.Develop Management Presentations: Synthesize complex data into high-impact PowerPoint presentations and actionable reports for senior leadership.Drive Business Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement data-driven strategies to optimize processes and reduce costs.Provide Operational Insights: Partner closely with operations teams to translate field metrics into financial impact assessments.Oversee Variance Analysis: Monitor monthly spend against forecast, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to management.Foster Safety Leadership: Maintain a "Safety First" attitude and champion safety initiatives across all operational and planning activities. Basic Requirements EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in operational planning, financial modeling, or business improvement.Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in building financial models, managing complex spreadsheets, and analyzing large datasets.Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to present to executive management.Software Mastery: Expert-level skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.Independence: Strong ability to work autonomously, manage shifting priorities, and deliver results under tight deadlines. Preferred Requirements Industry Experience: Background in capital-intensive or heavy industries like oil and gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing, or logistics.Systems Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning software, specifically SAP.Strategic Background: Proven track record of leading large-scale corporate efficiency or business transformation initiatives.Credentials: Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Site Working Conditions & Physical Expectations Work Environment Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.Operates in a complex construction environment.Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios. Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift.The incumbent is required to have fully mechanical motion and usage of all extremities.Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. without assistance.Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.May be required to enter confined spaces.May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance.
