About the role
The Advancement Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the IU School of Nursing's fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. This role coordinates donor and alumni activities across the full engagement continuum, manages data, communications, events, and reporting, and ensures a seamless donor experience.
Responsibilities
- Cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors and alumni, managing data, communications, events, and reporting that strengthen donor relationships and enhance the overall advancement strategy.
- Serves as a key connector across internal teams, vendors, and external partners, ensuring a seamless donor experience.
- Manages stewardship operations, including gift tracking, donor acknowledgments, and coordination of recognition with advancement leadership.
- Captures logistics, vendor collaboration, and on-site support for advancement and alumni engagement events.
- Supports financial and operational processes, including expense reports, purchase orders, vendor payments, and budget tracking.
- Prepares donor briefings and materials by researching giving histories and assembling meeting and engagement documents.
- Coordinates fundraising initiatives, leadership scheduling, and process improvements to enhance advancement operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4 years experience in fundraising/development, administrative, a higher education foundation, or related field.
- Experience in donor relations or stewardship activities, including acknowledgment processes, reporting on gift impact, and maintaining donor intent.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, or similar) to manage donor records and engagement activities.

- Proficiency with CRM and donor database systems, along with Microsoft Office tools for reporting and communication.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including faculty, staff, vendors, and external stakeholders.
