Advanced V&V Engineer

As an Advanced Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer, you will ensure our engineered systems perform exactly as intended through disciplined testing, documentation, traceability, and audit-ready evidence. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in V&V, systems engineering, or quality within a regulated industry who is ready to take on greater technical ownership.

You will support verification and validation activity planning and execution, analyze requirements traceability, and collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and project teams from design through commissioning. While V&V will be the primary focus, project needs may occasionally require support for adjacent engineering activities such as mechanical design, controls engineering, or software development tasks when V&V workload allows.

Responsibilities

• Deliver verification and validation work that strengthens safety, quality, and customer confidence.
• Ensure system, integration, and acceptance testing is well planned, thoroughly documented, and completed with no unresolved critical defects.
• Maintain clear requirements traceability from design inputs through test evidence, confirming deliverables are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
• Contribute to V&V process improvements and support compliance with standards such as NQA-1, IEEE, and IEC.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Project Management to align analytical reports and testing activities with technical requirements, schedules, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in Verification & Validation, Systems Engineering, Software Quality, or Quality Engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, defense, medical device).
• Strong understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and requirements traceability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, audit-ready documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, quality, and project teams.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ownership skills to manage multiple interacting tasks.
• U.S. Citizenship due to customer contractual requirements.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Experience supporting software V&V activities in accordance with IEEE 1012, IEEE 829, or similar standards.
• Familiarity with NQA-1, nuclear quality assurance programs, or other highly regulated quality systems.
• Experience with automation systems, controls, robotics, nuclear handling systems, remote equipment, or fuel transfer systems.

Pay

Market competitive pay targeted at $90,000–110,000 annually for this salaried position, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
