Advanced Prototype Designer
About the role
The Advanced Prototype Designer will work with Professor Michael Gibson to manage prototype design with undergraduate and graduate students on the EndoMD project. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in User-Experience Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate prototype process
- Aid Professor Michael Gibson in managing student workers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, manufacturing)
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 3D modeling
- Participate in iterative testing and design troubleshooting
- Work with 3D printing, CNC machinery, laser cutting, and materials selection
- Expertise in digital product tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Knowledge and skills: Proficiency in CAD software, strong iterative testing and collaboration abilities
- Preferred qualifications: Deep proficiency in CAD software, practical experience with 3D printing and CNC machinery
