Advanced Process Control Engineer
About the role
Flint Hills Resources in Corpus Christi, Texas is seeking an Advanced Process Control Engineer to join the team. This role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing Advanced Process Control (APC) and Real-Time Optimization (RTO) applications to enhance refinery performance and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement APC and RTO process control applications aligned with the business vision, collaborating with site team members and cross-site resources.
- Ensure process control applications function as designed, delivering real benefits, and maintaining high uptimes.
- Maintain and improve existing APC and RTO application models and configurations.
- Implement new APC and RTO technologies, including non-linear models and AI/machine learning algorithms.
- Find innovative ways to integrate economic strategies with process control strategies to optimize the refinery.
- Mentor less-experienced process control engineers in APC and RTO technologies.
- Collaborate with other process control, automation, and innovation resources across Flint Hills Resources and Koch Industries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience working in the refining or chemical processing industries.
- Experience with delivering value-added process control and APC applications (multi-variable, model-based solutions).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years of APC experience in the refining or chemical processing industries.
- Experience with Aspentech applications (DMC3, Aspen IQ, Aspen Watch, GDOT, HYSYS, etc.).
- Experience with the Emerson Delta V DCS system.

Pay
The salary for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's years of experience and demonstrated skills.
