About the role
Provides healthcare services at a detention facility, managing health problems and coordinating care for patients according to state and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Independently manages health problems and coordinates health care for patients
- Serve as a resource for patients in need of care information, counseling, and guidance for any patient conditions in an outpatient setting
- Provide patient education about clinical conditions, diagnostic testing, preventative care, and prescribed treatments
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools
- Perform initial patient screenings, obtain past medical and medication history, complete ROS
- Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs
- Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
- Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment
- Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity
- Promote a safe environment
Requirements
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Florida
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program
- Minimum 2 years' experience in IM/IV skills and basic procedures
- Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS provider card
- Familiarity with the EHR medical charting system
- Maintain strong and current infectious disease knowledge and practices
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to perform independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle high stress situations
- Full immunization record must be presented before hire
