Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Full-time

About the role

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary health care team providing continuity in the care management of chronically critically ill patients. The APRN will improve patient outcomes by planning care that will prevent complications, promptly identifying changes in patient condition, and intervening to stabilize patients.

Responsibilities

• Improves patient outcomes by planning care that will prevent complications, promptly identifying changes in patient condition, and intervening to stabilize patients.
• Absorbs and reviews diagnostic testing information, formulates and alters clinical plans of care as needed, including prescribing appropriate treatments and medications within the scope of practice.
• Works closely with patients and families to provide continuity of care, provide teaching and answer questions, and maintain or exceed patient/family satisfaction with care.
• Responds to staff concerns about changes in patient condition. Recognizes changes in condition, stabilizes the patient, and/or seeks appropriate consultation.
• Fulfills responsibilities for completing documentation, including assessment and plan, which rests with the physician.
• Maintains high ethical standards and follows all company service standards.
• Drives mechanical ventilation liberation rates.
• Acts as a mentor to other clinical staff at the bedside and assists in providing leadership for clinical initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Permanent State Registered Nurse License and Certificate of Authority.
• Master's degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
• National Nurse Practitioner Certification (Adult, Acute Care or Family) through AANP or ANCC.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge and skills related to the care of adolescent patients through patients in an advanced age is required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
