About the role

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is dedicated to ending cancer for life through specialized care, translational research, and training the next generation of scientists and clinicians. We seek an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Thoracic Oncology Surgery team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members in the outpatient setting.
  • Provide comprehensive perioperative and postoperative care for thoracic surgery patients.
  • First and second assist in the operating room for a wide variety of thoracic oncology procedures.
  • Participate in inpatient consultative care and care coordination across the healthcare continuum.
  • Support patient education initiatives and clinical programs designed to optimize outcomes and patient experience.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Qualifications

  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, NCCPA certification, active NYS license or eligible for New York State licensure, minimum of 3 years of related surgical experience strongly preferred.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Current New York State RN and NP license/registration, master's degree in Nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility), related National NP certification, current RNFA certification, minimum of 3 years of related surgical experience strongly preferred.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Full-time, four 10-hour shifts per week, day shift.
  • Location: Main Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
  • Reporting to: Manager, APP.
