Advanced Practice Provider - Pre Admission Testing (PAT)

About the role

The Advanced Practice RN (APRN) - Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) works as an educator, advocate and care provider and is responsible for the care and well-being of patients being seen for perioperative care and medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete history and physicals for patients undergoing elective surgeries
• Optimize comorbidities of patients undergoing elective surgeries
• Perform risk stratification for patients undergoing elective surgeries
• Order and interpret EKGs, labs, imaging and various cardiac diagnostic testing
• Obtain accurate medication reconciliations and provide perioperative medication management
• Consult with various specialties as needed (Anesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine)
• Refer patients to various specialties as needed for further preoperative evaluation and optimization

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Master of Science degree
• Current Indiana license or eligible for one
• Collaborative agreement with affiliated physician group
• Current Indiana Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration
