About the role
Deliver pediatric cardiac critical care in a specialized medical center as a Physician Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse with cardiac critical care credentials.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and resources.
- Document care processes according to standards and policies.
- Participate in staff and student education and orientation.
- Obtain patient history, perform assessments, and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Manage and treat cardiac critical care conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals.
- Engage in discharge planning and perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
- Experience caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart diseases in a pediatric cardiac ICU.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Sensitive, confidential, and collaborative team player.
