About the role
Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Staff Level Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Digestive Disease Center. This position is located in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients with pancreatic disease, including acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
- Collaborates with physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participates in patient teaching and multidisciplinary pancreas conferences.
- Coordinates daily clinic schedules with the attending physician team.
- Formulates and documents a plan of care addressing complex acute and chronic health care needs.
- Manages diagnostic tests and prescribes appropriate interventions.
- Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team.
- Documents patient progress via daily progress notes, transfer, and discharge summaries.
Requirements
- Preferred GI experience.
- Preferred pancreas experience.
Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Experience in gastroenterology and digestive disease preferred.
- Knowledge of evidenced-based practice guidelines and protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule
Full-time, 5 days per week (clinic and telemedicine from home), no call, holidays, or weekends.
