About the role
Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Staff Level Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Digestive Disease Center. This position focuses on Gastroenterology and Digestive Disease within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients, collaborating with physicians for optimum patient care.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care team in making diagnoses of acute and complex chronic conditions.
- Manages diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision.
- Formulates and documents a plan of care to address complex acute and chronic health care needs.
- Prescribes diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical, needed to achieve expected outcomes.
- Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team.
- Documents/dictates key components of patient's progress via daily progress note, transfer, and discharge summary.
- Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the outpatient continuum of care.
Requirements
- Preferred GI experience.
- Preferred pancreas experience.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Nursing or Physician Assistant.
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee.
- Experience in Gastroenterology and Pancreatic Disease preferred.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually.
Schedule
This position is full-time (5 days per week) with no weekend or after hours call schedule and no inpatient responsibilities.
