Advanced Practice Provider - Outpatient Obstetrics and Gynecology (NEMH)
About the role
The Women’s and Infants service line at John Peter Smith Hospital is a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice professionals who are dedicated to meeting the complete health care needs of women in our community. We provide services and support for women at every stage of life, including but not limited to preventative health care, low and high risk prenatal/childbirth/postnatal care, menopause care, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology evaluation and treatment. Our physicians provide 24 hour in house inpatient hospital coverage and we deliver and average of 4,000 babies a year.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the physician in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize quality patient care.
- Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
- Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
- Maintains guidelines for the management of care and ensures services are delivered in compliance with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group guidelines.
- Provides care education to patients and families.
- Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
- Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
- Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
- Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
- Serves as a resource to the community.
Requirements
Well woman, problem gynecology and obstetrics
Diverse patient population with complicated conditions
Qualifications
- Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife.
- Experience in obstetrics and gynecology preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures.
