Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - General Cardiology - Outpatient

About the Role

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Division of Cardiology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide specialty medical care in General Cardiology within the outpatient setting at Froedtert Drexel Town Square Health Center (DTSHC) in Oak Creek, WI. The APP will have a strong foundation in evidence‑based practice and ensure an environment of safe, quality patient care.

• Conduct comprehensive histories & physical exams, identifying normal & abnormal findings including physical, cognitive, & psychosocial status
• Order, perform, & interpret screening & diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicate & document information
• Engage and educate patients & families
• Provide cross‑coverage on consult service

Qualifications

Preferred Experience: Core APP experience in cardiovascular hospital‑based care is preferred. Prior outpatient, inpatient, adult care, acute care, and/or critical care Cardiology experience (PA, NP, and/or RN) is strongly preferred. Pacemaker & ICD programming skills are desirable but not required.

Minimum Education:

• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC‑PA‑accredited organization.

Minimum Requirements:

• Advanced Practice Nurse/Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner:
  • Wisconsin RN license
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Certification as an Adult Care NP and/or FNP preferred
  • BLS/DEA
• Physician Assistant:
  • Wisconsin Physician Assistant license
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • BLS/DEA

Schedule

Full‑time, 1.0 FTE. Hours are typically Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, with flexibility required as needed to accommodate patient care and business needs.

Pay

Salaried/Exempt position.
