Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) - Needham Endocrinology (Full Time)

About the Role

This full-time, off-site position provides direct patient care in an ambulatory and/or inpatient setting to patients with complex medical conditions or surgical patients. The role requires 40 hours per week, with potential off-hour, weekend, and on-call responsibilities. Both Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, formulates care plans, orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests, and provides education to patients and their families.
• Acts as an educator and clinical resource for staff through consultation, formal and informal education, literature review, and participation in seminars and conferences.
• Coordinates patient care to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered outcomes.
• Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff, and consult services to unify care plans across the service.
• Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding complex patient diagnoses.
• Documents clinical encounters clearly, precisely, and in a timely manner.
• Works collaboratively with other health professionals to determine and meet the health needs of patients and families.
• Demonstrates and models an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Provides direct patient care and management for all opioid patients.

Requirements

For Nurse Practitioners

• Master’s degree in Nursing (required).
• Current Nursing License and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG.
• Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA.
• 0-1 years of related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).

For Physician Assistants

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant (required).
• Current Physician Assistant License, DPH Drug Control Registration, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA.
• 0-1 years of related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise.
• Experience in Pain Management.

Physical Requirements

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. The job is physical, requiring standing and/or moving for the majority of the shift.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $133,120.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, and job responsibilities.
