Advanced Practice Provider - Interventional Radiology 40 hours

What You Will Be Doing

The advanced practice provider - interventional radiology works collaboratively with interventional radiologists in assessing and treating patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing pre- and post-procedure assessment and education to patients and their families.
• Conducting history and physical exams.
• Serving as a liaison between referring physicians, patients, and radiologists.
• Managing the ambulatory and inpatient procedure schedule.
• Ordering and interpreting lab results and prescribing medications.
• Coordinating care between radiology modalities and inpatient floors.
• Managing and appropriately escalating post-procedure issues.
• Inserting, evaluating, and maintaining peripheral intravenous catheters (PICCs).
• Processing platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
• Ordering and administering contrast agents and providing pre-medication assessments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
• Board certification from NCCPA, ANCC, or AANPCP.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.

Education

• Required: Master's degree in Nursing (FNP or AGNP preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Masters in Physician Assistant Studies preferred.
• Certificate from a CAAHEP-accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience practicing in an outpatient or ambulatory setting.
