About the role

Rush Oak Park Hospital, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites applications for the position of Advanced Practice Provider. The Emergency Department is well-staffed with an average of 58 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of mid-level provider coverage daily.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted by Rush University Medical Center.
  • Promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost-effective and quality patient care.
  • Exemplify the Rush mission, vision, and values and act in accordance with Rush policies, procedures, guidelines, and customer service standards.
  • Meet all state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse. Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position. Current certification by ANCC or AANP. Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Experience treating patients of all ages. Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).
  • Physician Assistant: Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate. Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program. Current certification from NCCPA. Maintains Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable. Excellent communicator. Experience treating patients of all ages. Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) in the State of Illinois.
  • Must have pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Maintain State of Illinois and Federal DEA license.
  • Maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable.
  • Maintain CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).

Benefits

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay

The total pay range for this role is $124,610 - $175,000 for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee. This range reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors.

Schedule

This role will function on a rotating 10-hour schedule alongside twenty full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians and two fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Night shifts are not currently required but may be added as needed. Two weekends (four shifts) per four-week block are required.
