Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations for new and follow-up patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Order, interpret, and correlate diagnostic tests and imaging studies (MRI, CT scans, etc.), formulating differential diagnoses and comprehensive treatment plans.
- Serve as a first assist in the operating room for various neurosurgical procedures, including spine and cranial cases, performing duties such as wound closure.
- Manage preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education, wound care, and pain management.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions as necessary, managing acute and chronic neurological conditions under the supervision of an attending physician.
- Facilitate and communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Document all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and the educational development of staff.
