The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role at AHN Express Care Erie is a dynamic opportunity for a highly skilled and compassionate clinician to provide primary or acute healthcare services in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. The role involves a variety of clinical services, including acute illnesses and injuries, strains, sprains, and uncomplicated fractures, minor procedures, and collaborating with a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate histories, review patient records, and perform complete physical examinations.
- Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's complaint, age, race, gender, and physical condition.
- Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine the patient's treatment plan.
- Make medical diagnoses and institute appropriate therapy within the applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Appropriately understand and timely document to support medical coding and billing.
- Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients and/or family members.
- Record and report pertinent information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and to the attending physician of record.
- Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in acute patient situations such as cardiac arrest, hemorrhage, or shock.
- Identify and inform the attending physician of record of all significant changes to the patient's ongoing condition in a timely manner.
- Maintain mandatory professional continuing education.
- Participate in medical education to student learners and professional staff, as supported by knowledge base.
- Participate in patient safety, quality improvement processes, and patient engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with the medical staff office.
- Maintain professional practice consistent with the organizational and advanced practice mission statements.
- Conduct specialty-specific procedures and adhere to the expectations outlined in the job agreement.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited program OR graduate from a Pennsylvania Board of Nursing approved Master’s or Post Master’s program.
- Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License OR current Pennsylvania CRNP license and current Pennsylvania RN license.
- CRNPs must obtain Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority license within 60 days of hire.
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- CPR – American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- 1-3 years department specific experience preferred.
- ACLS certification.
- DEA license.
