About the role
We are seeking a Hematology and Breast Oncology APN to join our multidisciplinary Hematology Oncology Physicians of Englewood (HOPE) in New Jersey. This role supports comprehensive care across the continuum—from high-risk assessment and diagnostic workup to treatment, survivorship, and long-term follow-up. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise, patient-centered communication, and a commitment to evidence-based oncology practice.
What your day will look like
- Determines and prioritizes patient care needs.
- Determines and prioritizes diagnoses from the assessment data using appropriate complex clinical reasoning.
- Performs or implements interventions and treatments with knowledge of health care research findings and reflecting a scientific basis and theory.
- Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory tests.
- Selects and performs tests and therapeutic procedures for the patient as necessary, adhering to scope of practice guidelines and program area's curriculum.
- Prescribes drugs as necessary as appropriate for the Hematology/Oncology office in accordance with state and federal law.
- Provides preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of episodic, short-term, and stable chronic hematologic/oncologic problems.
- Identifies educational needs of patients and families and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary patient care team to develop programs and materials for team members, patient/family, and the community.
- Completes patient care milestones and education such as Chemo talks, Survivorship, and Geriatric Assessment as defined by disease-specific NCCN guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current New Jersey Professional Nurse License
- Current Nurse Practitioner License
- Board Certification required
- ONS Chemo/Bio Certification within 3 months of hire required
- Master's Degree in Nursing required
- Current CDS & DEA required
- BLS and ACLS required
- 3-5 years' recent clinical experience in area of expertise preferred
- Previous leadership/teaching experience preferred
