About the role
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Senior Advanced position at Honeywell Aerospace is responsible for driving advanced manufacturing strategies, optimizing processes, and implementing cutting-edge technologies to achieve operational excellence and innovation. Reporting directly to the Sr Adv Mfg Engineering Manager, this role is based in Torrance, CA, with a hybrid work schedule following 90 days of onsite training.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee advanced manufacturing processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Manage Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) items to meet IPDS goals.
- Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Interface with Engineering and Sourcing to identify Suppliers meeting capacity, cost, and capability goals.
- Identify and manage new product assembly, test, or tooling Capital needs.
- Drive DFM (Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Lean) activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or 12+ years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience in advanced manufacturing, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, welding, brazing, machining, additive manufacturing.
- Familiar with industry specifications such as AWS D17.1 and AMS2750.
- Experience with GD&T concepts and symbols.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven track record of continuous improvement and project execution.
- Familiarity with NX or similar CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Engineering degrees like ME (Mechanical Engineering), EE (Electrical Engineering), IE (Industrial Engineer) or Manufacturing Engineer.
- Experience driving process improvements and operational excellence in manufacturing environments.
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Product knowledge in valves, pumps, actuators, heat exchangers, and environmental control systems.
- Ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
PAY
The annual base salary range for this position is $131,000 - $163,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
