Advanced DevOps Engineer

About the role
As an Advanced DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to automation that instantiates and maintains container orchestration platforms, automatically configure and deploy infrastructure services, and work closely with the team to plan major updates and enhancements. You will support critical internal and external platform consumers through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.

Responsibilities
- Automate the instantiation and maintenance of container orchestration platforms
- Automatically configure and deploy infrastructure services, including identity and access management, network architecture, application security, logging, monitoring, and deployment
- Plan and implement major updates and enhancements to products
- Support successful implementation of the platform in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, and monitoring
- Work with AI/ML models to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
- Deploy and use continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef
- Support production-grade applications in virtualized environments using automation
- Create or use pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions
- Apply IT security practices, including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, security hardening, and auditing
- Install and manage Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO
- Manage Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services and/or Azure
- Work with Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift
- Use cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer
- Implement scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX), Firewalls, and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field
- 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with open source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)

Schedule
This position is flex but requires at least 3-4 days per week of onsite support at the customer's facility in Boulder, CO.
Pay
Target salary range: USD $118,570.00/Yr. - USD $125,054.00/Yr.
