We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Advanced Development Engineer to lead the development of next-generation manufacturing technologies and product designs for high-speed wiring harnesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative manufacturing processes for next-generation high-speed wiring harnesses and electrical interconnect products.
  • Design, develop, and validate new product concepts that improve electrical performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Research and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies including automation, robotics, laser processing, additive manufacturing, precision dispensing, advanced joining methods, and digital manufacturing techniques.
  • Develop prototype tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment to support proof-of-concept and process validation activities.
  • Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize manufacturing processes and product performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure successful implementation of new technologies.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvements, reduce variation, and improve production efficiency.
  • Support prototype builds and transition successful development projects into production.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, presentations, and project updates for management and cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with equipment suppliers and technology partners to evaluate and implement emerging manufacturing solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced development projects while managing multiple priorities and project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing engineering, process development, automation, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, GD&T, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience using CAD software and engineering documentation systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to travel, including domestic and international travel, to support development activities, equipment validation, supplier collaboration, and implementation at global manufacturing facilities.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with high-speed electrical connectors, wiring harnesses, or cable assembly manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of automated assembly systems, robotics, machine vision, precision dispensing, laser processing, or advanced joining technologies.
  • Experience supporting prototype development and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
