About the Role

This 1st shift Advanced Composites Manufacturing Lead position is a dual role combining technical proficiency with leadership. Team Leads serve as mentors and trainers, bridging the gap between supervisors and employees. The role focuses on producing and developing composite materials to enhance quality and efficiency, coordinating with engineers to improve designs and shop-aids, and optimizing workflows. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and organize daily work for the department.
  • Provide direction and assign daily activities to production team members.
  • Monitor and report on team work progress frequently.
  • Communicate with logistics, engineering, production management, and other shifts regarding needs, priorities, and issues.
  • Promote the flow and pull of products and information to internal and external customers.
  • Identify, investigate, and address production floor problems.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by analyzing root causes of scrap and RMA issues.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures.
  • Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are met by each employee and provide constructive feedback.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Provide direction to other individuals.
  • Oversee daily operations of staff, including scheduling and assigning work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated technical work proficiency in the assigned department preferred.
  • Basic experience in ERP/MRP or resource software is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily indoor work; sites may not be temperature-controlled.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment and contaminants.
  • Shared workspaces with other employees.
  • Requires handling objects up to 30 lbs, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies by role, shift, and overtime).

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

SEKISUI Aerospace provides required PPE based on position and exposure. All employees must wear appropriate PPE on the production floor, including:

  • Ear Plugs / Earmuffs
  • Full Face Shield
  • Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
  • Protective Apron
  • Respirator
  • Safety Glasses / Safety Goggles

Schedule

3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday - Thursday (Full-Time Non-Exempt)

Pay

$33.08 - $37.48 per hour (includes a 10% shift differential for this Full-Time Non-Exempt role). Pay may vary for non-Washington residents based on regional market data.
