Responsibilities
- Works directly with sonographers, cardiovascular trainees, and consultants in the review of echocardiograms.
- Integrates known clinical information, echocardiographic findings and related physiologic data to ensure that the exam is comprehensive and accurate.
- Completely and accurately documents data and echo exam information utilizing current information management system, in preparation for physician review.
- Communicates closely with patient service representatives to triage patients and coordinate patient care schedules.
- Must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate lab staffing needs.
- When required, must be able to perform complete echocardiographic study integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data.
- Must possess strong human relation and communication skills, and sound judgment.
- Must demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment.
- Must have an understanding of sterile procedures and isolation precaution techniques, and must exercise proper precautions to avoid potential.
Qualifications
- Requires Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) credential or current enrollment of an accredited ACS program.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years full-time experience as a cardiac sonographer.
- Must possess Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credentials.
- Requires successful completion of the Intermediate Sonographer course.
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Licensure or Certification
- Must be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RCS) and have successfully completed the specialty exams Cardiovascular Principles & Instrumentation and Adult and/or Pediatric Echocardiography.
- Requires up-to-date certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification preferred.

Compensation Detail
$36.50 - $54.77 / hour. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
