Full-time lines primarily feature 12-hour shifts, and for those interested, there’s the opportunity to cross-train on the inpatient medical floor for even more variety and growth. About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for patient care, a strong foundation in emergency nursing, and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assume incharge responsibility to function independently.
- Practice within the scope of professional, legal, and ethical standards.
- Seek out and obtain education to enhance/improve practice.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement the plan of care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient data to formulate nursing responses and interventions.
- Evaluate patient outcomes consistently with independent and interdependent nursing functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in ACLS or able to obtain within 6 months of the commencement of the position.
- Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (ex. QH Cardio Concepts) or obtain within 6 months of the commencement of the position.
- Minimum 1-year recent emergency room experience within the last 2 years as a Registered Nurse.
- Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.
