Advanced Apprentice Lineworker

Responsibilities
- Installs, removes and maintains electrical lines, equipment and fiber optic cable by efficient and safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment and specialized tools.
- Coordinates line work activities with various departments, contractors and the general public.
- Restores electrical service by troubleshooting electrical lines and equipment.
- Minimizes outage duration by effectively diagnosing problems and planning/implementing restoration activities.
- Occasionally works without direct supervision during the normal work day.
- May be the first to respond to trouble calls or outages, requiring development of appropriate response and safeguarding of the public.
- Works effectively and courteously with and around the public at all times regardless of conditions.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Apprentice Level – Over one year of job-related experience as a lineworker or completion of a Technical College Lineworker training program (3rd 6 months or higher). Level to be determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and valid Medical Certificate.
- This position is subject to Federal DOT FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act) regulations.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, and/or aptitude.
- Must report regularly in person to Eveleth, MN.
Pay
The expected hourly compensation range for this advanced apprenticeship is $45.97 – $53.15. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, and experience.
