The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System manages patient care, rounds on inpatients, and performs complex diagnostics in specialized acute care settings such as critical care, Ortho, OB/GYN, Oncology, and Pediatrics. - Provides high-quality, cost-effective advanced nursing care within the APRN's scope of practice
Requirements
- Advanced degree from an accredited school or college of nursing
- Approved APRN board certification
- Effective interaction skills to ensure successful patient care
- Knowledge of state, federal, and local health care agencies and programs
- Ability to work independently and effectively with physicians and other allied health personnel
- Demonstrated clinical competency skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology and current prescription writing skills/DEA licensing
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes, and regulations
Qualifications
- Fluorescent Light Therapy: Requires a Medicare number in the State of Florida prior to 1/1/03, or a Master's Degree in nursing if not.
- Board Certification: Must be certified as a APRN by a recognized national certifying body.
