Adult Residential Specialist

About the role

We are currently hiring an organized, compassionate, and committed Residential Specialist to work in our Northcoast House located in Concord, Ohio. This role supports residents of Lake County in need of short-term or transitional housing by monitoring their progress toward objectives and goals identified during treatment planning. All services are delivered using a trauma-informed approach.

This position is scheduled for 2 evenings per week, Friday and Saturday, from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with residents to teach independent living skills and programs.
• Assist individuals in expanding their social support network, including relatives, friends, and volunteer organizations.
• Collaborate with Community Support Treatment Workers and staff to support client progress.
• Provide crisis support and help residents maintain stability; access additional crisis intervention resources as needed.
• Record all client contact in accordance with agency guidelines.
• Reassess resident needs as specified by utilization review standards at the client’s request.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of related experience or training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with clients in a recovery capacity preferred.
• Acceptable driving record (4 points or less), reliable transportation, and automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000.
• Experience with trauma-informed care, motivational support, stage-wise treatment, substance use, and crisis de-escalation highly preferred.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of others and treat residents with respect.

Essential Functions

• Able to lift 40 pounds.
• Able to ascend/descend stairs.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform duties.
• Able to reach, kneel, bend, twist at the waist, bend at knees, walk, crouch, see, hear, touch, grasp objects, push, pull, and sit.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay

$20.00 per hour.
