Adult Psychiatrist

About the role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Adult Psychiatry Physician to join a team supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. Collaborate with a dedicated, multidisciplinary team supported by 24/7 nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and Education Specialists. Enjoy a balanced inpatient schedule with a 7-on/7-off rotation (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.). Provide care on a 14-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit with an average daily census of 9 patients and a typical length of stay of 3–5 days, focusing on acute crisis stabilization for conditions including suicidal/homicidal ideation, psychosis, and substance withdrawal/detox. Serving a surrounding population of 230,000.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients using appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic skills while ensuring accurate, timely documentation that meets payer requirements and supports appeals for denied services.
- Accept and manage inpatient referrals, serving as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician as needed, while actively contributing to initiatives that enhance quality of care and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
