Adult Mountain Sports School Supervisor

Assist manager and director in supervising a team of 85-160 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; taking care of guests, addressing guest complaints and resolving problems. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager in supervising a team of 15-30 employees.
• Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Supervise the daily operation, including but not limited to: guest check-in, class assignments, getting classes out in a timely manner, checking on classes and assisting instructors on hill, entering class data in Flaik, facility upkeep and cleanliness.
• Comply with Federal and California Labor law in all phases of the payroll and employment process; from hiring through termination, as well as all Company policies & procedures.
• Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist with coordination of the different programs in the Adult School.
• Carry out daily procedures to aid in effective personnel and financial management of the Snowsports School.
• Assist in various marketing promotional programs to promote Snowsports School programs.
• Record and maintain files for various Ski and Snowboard School programs.
• Actively lead the quality and direction of Instructor Training.
• Perform or assist subordinates in performing duties.
• Teach group and private lessons.

Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others.
• Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Advanced skiing and/or snowboarding skills, teaching skills, and PSIA/AASI certifications.
• Working knowledge of PSIA/AASI teaching principles and techniques.
• Ability to lead and direct employees and serve customers under intense conditions.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PSIA/AASI level 1 certification or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• PSIA/AASI level 3 certification.
• One-year supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and ski.
• Must be capable of walking, standing, and skiing 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift.
• Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

• Indoor/Outdoor: Continuously exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold, wetness, humidity, blizzards, and extreme storm conditions.
• Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.

Equipment Used

• Skis and/or Snowboard.

Pay

The base hourly pay range is $24 - $35.99 per hour. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel.
