Responsibilities

The adult education instructor will provide in-person instruction to adult learners in the Guymon, Oklahoma area. This position will assist students to reach levels of English language proficiency necessary to obtain and maintain employment. The ELA Instructor will support students as they attempt to reach their educational, personal, and professional goals.

Qualifications

  • In-person instruction in Guymon, OK.
  • No online or distance learning instructors will be considered.
  • Associates degree minimum. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two to five years of teaching, tutoring, or related experience preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Instructs courses in English Language Acquisition (ELA).
  • Input, update, track and organize student information to develop necessary reports.
  • Instruct students in learning the English language.
  • Communicate with students on a consistent basis and assist with any supportive services needed.
  • Instill in students the goal of further education and certification and help prepare them for that transition.
  • Maintain quality and effectiveness with regard to specified consumer outcomes.
  • Help students develop work habits such as attendance, punctuality, attentiveness, cooperatives, and appropriateness of dress, behavior and interpersonal interactions.
  • Attend all meetings required of job i.e.: staff meetings, departmental meetings, and safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaker preferred

Pay

Salary Range: Salary based on grant funding award
