Adult Education/GED Instructor - Corrections, Full Time (ADM3180)

About the role

This position is located in Hutchinson. As an on-site instructor, work closely with representatives of Hutchinson Correctional Facility (HCF) and the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) following their policies and being responsive to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classes for students who need basic instruction of math, grammar, writing and basic computer skills at HCF locations as assigned.
• Work with the Adult Education program coordinator in implementing curriculum and documenting student progress. This will include evaluation of materials and teaching methods.
• Submit appropriate paperwork (pre/posttests, referrals, GED ready scores, and student evaluations) to program coordinator for quarterly reports and to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Attend staff development activities as assigned.
• Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
• Comply with HutchCC policies, practices, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, faculty and other HutchCC stakeholders.
• Assess student learning and application of course objectives and competencies.
• Design, develop, and maintain course curriculum, materials, assessments, and evaluations according to HutchCC and state standards, and in response to needs and trends.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Adult Education Coordinator or the Director of the Business and Industry Institute.
