About the role
The Herma Heart Institute has an opportunity for a nurse to join the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team. This nurse will be paired with a provider supporting both an ACHD and pediatric clinic seeing patients ranging from infancy to 18+ years. In addition, this nurse will support our transition program for our pediatric cardiology patients 16 years and over.
Schedule
Four 10-hour days, 7am–5pm (no weekends or holidays).
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Herma Heart Institute Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program
- Provide and help coordinate care to adult patients with suspected or diagnosed congenital heart disease, supporting continuity of care for this diverse and complex population
- Assist in program development and research initiatives to improve the care and outcomes of all adults with congenital heart disease across Wisconsin and the Midwest
- Provide care to pediatric patients through a bi‑monthly pediatric focused clinic
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Three to four years nursing experience
- Current CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – American Heart Association training required within the first year
- Licensed RN (Registered Nurse) – State of Wisconsin
Skills & experience preferences
- Cardiac experience highly preferred
- Adult experience highly preferred
