Adolescent & Family Services Clinician

About the role

An Adolescent and Family Clinician providing clinical counseling within a NYS OASAS-certified outpatient program. This role focuses on delivering trauma-informed, person-centered care to adolescents and families, ensuring compliance, effective documentation, and coordinated service delivery in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly individual and family counseling for adolescents (12-21) and secondary caseload of adult clients, developing individualized treatment plans.
• Assess treatment levels, coordinate with medical, mental health, and social service providers, and ensure compliance with OASAS and CARF standards.
• Complete detailed documentation, including progress notes, assessments, discharge plans, and reports, maintaining organized clinical charts.
• Manage treatment-related procedures such as specimen collection, toxicology monitoring, and communicate findings to supervisory staff.
• Engage families and significant others, maintain communication throughout treatment, and advocate for clients’ needs.
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and support special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health discipline (MSW, MHC, MFT) with NYS licensure or eligibility, or CASAC credential with experience in substance use treatment and adolescents.
• Experience working with youth and families in clinical or community settings, knowledge of adolescent development, family systems, and evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, MET, family therapy).
• Strong communication skills, computer literacy, familiarity with electronic health records, and ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
• Bilingual skills, especially Spanish, are preferred.
