About the Role
The Admixture Tech II prepares hazardous and nonhazardous medications in a clinical setting, ensuring sterile techniques, biological safety, and proper handling of antineoplastic agents. They maintain inventory, document compliance, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review medication orders for accuracy and suitability.
- Perform calculations and prepare medications accurately and timely.
- Ensure aseptic preparation with proper PPE usage.
- Maintain detailed records, logs, and temperature monitoring for medications.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and reconciliation.
- Handle hazardous waste per regulations and ensure environmental safety.
- Collaborate with departments to track patient medications and minimize treatment disruptions.
- Support training, documentation, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Certified pharmacy technician (or equivalent), preferably CPhT.
- Minimum one year of pharmacy or admixture experience; IV experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
