About the role

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director, this position provides assistance with document management, inventory management, and vendor support. It also covers shifts at Kintegra Health pharmacies when technicians are on planned or unplanned leave, performing prescription processing, supply stocking, workstation organization, and maintaining confidentiality of Patient Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain information to help fill prescriptions.
  • Count medications and measure prescribed amounts accurately.
  • Mix and prepare medications as required.
  • Package and label prescriptions with correct dosage information.
  • Process retail transactions and handle money.
  • Process insurance claims during prescription filling.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform accurate cash management and transaction procedures.
  • Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Reliable means of travel to any assigned Kintegra Health pharmacy site.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
  • Effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and establish effective working relationships with providers, management, and external customers.
  • Manage multiple changing priorities with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Interact with individuals of all cultures and authority levels as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate required.
  • At least one year of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Skills

  • Preferred:
    • National Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
    • Pharmacy technician registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP).
    • Familiarity with pharmacy software programs for daily tasks.
    • Prior FQHC or public health experience.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
