About the role
A Admitting Clerk who excels in this role:
- Prepares statistical reports, maintains department metrics, performs admitting/registration functions such as electronic filing, enter patient data, verify insurance, and collect upfront cash while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
- Plays, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
- Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
- Controls basic accounting functions such as providing daily payment log/journal to cashier for reconciliation.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Minimum work experience: 1-2 years of general admitting experience.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This position is typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
