About the role
Montana Technological University seeks an organized and energetic Admissions Representative to engage prospective students, families, and organizations; recruiting students to apply and enroll who can benefit from and contribute to our distinct campus community of determined doers.
Responsibilities
- Planning, managing, and evaluating recruitment activities for prospective students within an assigned geographic territory, including but not limited to high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and other events for groups and individual prospective students
- Must be able and willing to travel in-state and out-of-state via vehicle and/or air for recruiting events
- Implementing professional written and verbal communication to prospective students and their families with information about Montana Tech and offer guidance through the college application and enrollment process
- Supporting office operations, including answering phone calls and emails, staffing on-campus recruitment events, and meeting with prospective students from your assigned territory during campus visits
- Giving presentations and campus tours to groups of people
- Collaborating and cultivating relationships with alumni and departments across campus to support student recruitment efforts
- Evaluating students for admission and making professional recommendations regarding admission
- Completing special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and/or Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment
- Working in a team-oriented, flexible, and customer-service oriented manner, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with campus departments and University partners
Requirements
- High School Diploma and Some College
- Valid Driver’s License
- The ability to work a flexible schedule allowing travel
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and the ability to learn other software as assigned
- The ability to work independently and as a team player
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience working in secondary education or at a college/university (preferred)
- Experience tailoring communication to varying audiences (preferred)
- Demonstrated public speaking skills (preferred)
- Knowledge of Montana Tech’s academic programs and campus resources (preferred)
