Admissions Representative
This position provides exceptional customer service to all Helms College constituencies, including potential students, their support systems, and other members of the Helms College team. The Admissions Representative represents Helms College compliantly and accurately in all activities, responsible for recruiting qualified applicants in accordance with state, federal, and institutional policies while upholding the highest ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate core values of Goodwill Industries: service, ownership, accountability, and respect.
- Attend college fairs at high schools, regional, and community events to generate qualified leads.
- Secure new inquiries (Personally Developed Referrals) by asking phone and in-person contacts for referrals of others interested in programs offered.
- Develop and cultivate strong relationships with persons of influence at high schools and other venues to yield lead generation.
- Schedule and manage visits from qualified leads for campus tours and presentations.
- Schedule and attend financial aid and admissions workshops at high schools and community centers to generate leads and foster relationships.
- Manage prospective student contact, ensuring new leads are engaged within 24 hours and contacted weekly up to matriculation.
- Provide campus tours, conduct personal interviews, and deliver accurate information about Helms College programs and services.
- Ensure all prospective student personal and biodemographic data is fully and accurately entered into the database.
- Ensure each prospective student file is complete with required information, including entrance exams, background checks, proof of graduation, and transcripts.
- Maintain a continuous pipeline of activity to ensure the needed number of appointments and interviews for enrollment goals.
- Ensure enrollment and start goals are met for each quarter.
- Attend daily meetings and weekly training to gain and apply knowledge, processes, and improved protocol.
- Monitor new student starts during the first week of class to address attendance or last-minute issues.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing special recruitment events on and off campus.
- Share ideas for activity and process improvements to enhance department efficiency.
- Refer individuals who may benefit to the Job Connection or Helms Continuing Education.
- Adhere to and apply Helms College policies and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, reimbursement, and accrediting requirements.
- Travel as necessary to represent Helms College at recruitment and enrollment events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of recruitment experience (preferred).
- Sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations.
- Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills.
- Goal-oriented and highly ethical.
- Strong expertise with MS Office and field-related hardware/software packages.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and collaborate with other departments.
- Ability to listen to customers and respond positively to requests.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel with one’s own car.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Work Environment
The work environment requires regular professional communication in person, over the telephone, through email, video conference, and other electronic means. The employee must move about the office or school, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
