About the Role

Performs patient registration functions by interviewing patients or responsible parties to obtain identification and demographic information. Verifies insurance and other payer benefits and performs up-front collections. Determines eligibility and arranges for admission of patients to the hospital following policies and procedures. Obtains signatures of individuals responsible for payment and explains hospital financial obligations.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or responsible parties to collect identification and demographic information

• Obtain signatures for payment responsibility and explain financial obligations
• Answer telephones and direct calls accordingly
• Assist with ordering office supplies as needed
• Prepare letters and send correspondence as requested

Requirements

• One to two years of medical or healthcare business office experience preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Computer skills required
• Good verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
• High School diploma, GED, or higher education required
• Complete CPI training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification thereafter
• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to compliance programs, policies, and procedures
