Job Summary
Serves as initial contact for prospective students through multiple platforms to answer inquiries and discuss admissions procedures and educational opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Provides enrollment information to students, clarifies initial educational goals, and facilitates student enrollment in the college including processing of transcripts in person
- Informs students of available support programs and services and responds to electronic and telephone inquiries regarding academic programs, registration, and general information
- Reviews admissions applications and educational documents for completeness and accuracy and assesses admissions placement through multiple measures set by the college
- Participates in college-wide and service area activities and events that promote the growth of the college as well as staff professional development activities
- Participates in professional development activities
- Affords assistance in Recruitment and Outreach activities and supports Admission area managers with projects as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies
- Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement
- Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate skills with MS Office products
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Two years customer service experience
Preferences
- Associate’s degree
- One year data entry experience
- Experience with Datatel/Colleague or student management system
- Experience at a community college or post-secondary setting
