Willow Creek Healthcare Center is seeking an organized, compassionate, and motivated Admissions Director to join our team in Clovis, CA. This position is responsible for coordinating the admissions process, building relationships with referral sources, and ensuring a welcoming and seamless transition for residents and their families.
About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to support facility operations by increasing the facility census.
Responsibilities
- Manage the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families, and supporting staff.
- Plan, direct, and monitor the daily operations of the Admissions Department to meet budgeted resident census goals and ensure professional and efficient admissions.
- Admit patients to the healthcare facility by screening patients against admission criteria and completing necessary forms.
- Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the Sales and Marketing department.
- Collaborate with leaders of other facility departments to ensure timely communication and enhance the admissions experience.
- Confirm insurance benefit coverage meets admission standards.
- Coordinate and arrange physical, social, emotional, and support services requirements, including transportation.
- Obtain applicant information by requesting and verifying completed applications, medical information, and interviewing patients and family members.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of facility services and educate referral sources as appropriate.
- Oversee patient bed assignments and completion of preliminary paperwork for admissions.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
- Complete resident intake process and coordinate with Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to ensure appropriateness of admissions.
- Maintain and communicate accurate records of bed availability.
- Initiate, nurture, and maintain contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings.
- Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill, and Evacuation Procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
- Assist in planning and execution of outreach events such as health fairs, educational programs, and promotional events.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Perform additional facility-specific tasks and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED. A Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or a related field is preferred.
- Two years of admissions experience preferred.
- LVN or RN license preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
Physical Demands
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
- Frequent use of office-related equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

- The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
Pay
$24.00-$27.00 per hour
