About the role
The Admissions Director at Willow Creek Healthcare Center is responsible for managing the admissions process, building relationships with referral sources, and ensuring a welcoming and seamless transition for residents and their families.
Responsibilities
- Manage the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families and supporting staff.
- Plan, direct and monitor the daily operations of the Admissions Department to ensure that budgeted resident census goals are met and that residents are admitted in a professional and efficient manner.
- Admits patients to the health care facility, screens patients by comparing patients’ condition to admission criteria, and admits patients by completing admission and financial responsibility forms.
- Collaborate with leaders of other facility departments to enhance the admissions experience of residents and their families.
- Confirm that all insurance benefit coverage meets standards of admissions and coordinate and arrange physical, social, emotional and support services requirements, including transportation.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of facility services that can be provided to prospective residents and educate referral sources as appropriate.
- Oversee the patients bed assignments and completion of preliminary paperwork for admissions.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
- Complete resident intake process, coordinate with Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to assure appropriateness of facility admissions, and maintain and communicate accurate record of bed availability.
- Initiate, nurture and maintain contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners as valued customers to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Supervise and manage the Admissions Department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in health care or related field preferred.
- Two years' admissions experience preferred.
- LVN or RN license preferred.
